Man-of-Steel-BannerFollowing swiftly on the heels of tonight’s new promo, we’ve got an awesome new TV spot to share for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot, Man of Steel.

The blockbuster is understandably one of the year’s most anticipated films, with the expectation that Snyder will be launching the DC Cinematic Universe this summer, if all goes well at the box office for Man of Steel next month.

Warner Bros. are partnering up with a number of companies and organisations in tandem with the film, and one of those new partners is the US National Guard. In this new TV spot, we get to see glimpses of some epic new footage from the movie spliced alongside a National Guard commercial, which is set to screen in front of Man of Steel screenings in the US next month.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Henry Cavill takes the lead here as the eponymous superhero. And he is joined by one of the year’s finest casts, starring alongside Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Richard Schiff, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, and Laurence Fishburne.

Snyder is directing from a script penned by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy), who co-wrote the story with frequent collaborator Christopher Nolan.

Man of Steel is set to be released in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and IMAX 3D on June 14th in the US and UK, and that release date just cannot come fast enough. To help make that wait just a little bit easier, here is the latest ‘Soldier of Steel’ TV spot, featuring some epic snippets of new footage.
