At the start of the weekend, Karl Urban announced that there would be an exclusive Star Trek 2 Comic-Con Sneak Peek that would premiere on YouTube, and though writer Damon Lindelof said that he had no idea what Urban was talking about, the actor has made good on his promise! In a way.
If you’re looking for a serious sneak peek, you’re probably not going to like the video below.
But if you’re a fan of Urban and are enjoying his recent antics, then you probably will.
Either way, he does reveal a tiny little snippet of J.J. Abrams behind the scenes in the last ten seconds of the footage, so you can’t say he wasn’t being honest.
Abrams’ as-yet-untitled Star Trek sequel is due to hit the big screen on 17th May, 2013.
Before then, we can look forward to seeing Urban take the lead in Dredd – which premiered at Comic-Con to fantastic early reviews – on 7th September. And if all goes well, we’ll see him reprise his role opposite Vin Diesel in the upcoming Riddick next year, which Universal are yet to announce a release for, but have said the earliest they could set it is January. Fingers crossed for early 2013.
