Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 is just three days from hitting theatres in the UK, and naturally we can’t wait for Phase Two in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to kick off.
Black is taking over the helm in place of Jon Favreau, and the expectations are high after Joss Whedon’s game-changing The Avengers.
We’ve seen some amazing things from the film so far, most recently with the studio treating us to a new featurette last week, along with a set of awesome LEGO posters for the blockbuster. And with its US release date fast approaching as well next weekend, IMAX have released the poster that they’ll be giving away at the first midnight screening of the film across the Atlantic, marking a partnership between Mondo, Marvel, and IMAX.
Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
Robert Downey, Jr. reprises his role once more as Tony Stark / IronMan. And starring alongside him is a brilliant cast, led by Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, Wang Xueqi, and Fan Bingbing, with Paul Bettany reprising his role as the voice of JARVIS.
Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) is directing from a script he co-wrote with Drew Pearce.
