Entertainment Film Distributors has unveiled the first look at ‘I Play Rocky’ and confirmed that the highly anticipated biographical drama will arrive in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on November 6, 2026.

Written and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Farrelly (Green Book), ‘I Play Rocky’ tells the remarkable true story behind the making of one of cinema’s most beloved sports dramas. The release has been strategically timed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Rocky, the ten-time Academy Award-nominated classic that won the Oscar for Best Picture.

Leading the cast is Anthony Ippolito, who takes on the role of a young Sylvester Stallone, portraying the actor and screenwriter during the pivotal period when he fought to bring his vision for Rocky to the big screen. Joining him is an impressive ensemble that includes AnnaSophia Robb, Matt Dillon, Stephan James, Tracy Letts, Jay Duplass and P.J. Byrne.

The film chronicles Stallone’s extraordinary determination as an aspiring actor and writer who refused to compromise on his dream. Despite being repeatedly told “no,” he insisted that if studios wanted his screenplay, they would also have to cast him as Rocky Balboa. His unwavering belief in himself ultimately changed the course of Hollywood history, creating one of the most inspirational success stories ever told.
