Atwell, who has a long standing relationship with Disney after her first appearance as Agent Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger, is said to be cast as Christopher Robin’s wife in a story which will focus on Robin as an adult, a businessman focused on his work and success and who has lost his childlike sense of imagination.

World War Z and Quantum of Solace helmer, Marc Forster is all set to direct from a script penned by Hidden Figures scribe Allison Schroeder with The Jungle Book and upcoming Jungle Book 2 producer, Brigham Taylor in the producer’s chair.

The story takes an interesting turn when characters such as Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, Owl, Roo and Winnie the Pooh re-enter his life to help him find his imagination once again. It is believed that all of the Hundred Acre Woods characters will be portrayed through CGI animation, but that has yet to be confirmed, however, at this moment in time, Disney, as always, are keeping any further details close to their chest on the production, but with Ewan and Hayley now onboard the Pooh spin-off we can expect further details like production start, release dates and even more cast announcements to trickle through.

Atwell does have some relevant experience in her bulging resume; she previously played Cinderella’s mother in the 2015 live-action blockbuster of Cinderella. With Agent Carter now axed by ABC, Atwell has moved onto pastures new in her TV career and will next be seen in the Starz’s and BBC miniseries Howards End, which is currently in production.
