What better way to embrace Christmas than curling up on the sofa in front of the classic Christmas movie ‘Home Alone’? Well, Google has gone one step further by recreating the family favourite with the help of Kevin McCallister aka Macauley Culkin.

Released in 1990, ‘Home Alone’ focused on the bratty 8-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) as he acts out the night before a family trip to Paris, his mother (Catherine O’Hara) makes him sleep in the attic. After the McCallisters mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, he awakens to an empty house and assumes his wish to have no family has come true. But his excitement sours when he realizes that two con men (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) plan to rob the McCallister residence and that he alone must protect the family home.

The film was written and produced by John Hughes with Christopher Columbus at the helm. Culkin was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Musical or Comedy, and the film was nominated for two Academy Awards, Original Score and Song. ‘Home Alone’ spawned a successful film franchise with four sequels, including the 1992 film ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’, which is the only ‘Home Alone’ sequel to have the original cast reprising their roles.

In the 2018 sketch, the adult Culkin wonder’s around his house during one of ‘lazy days’ bouncing on the bed (but age gets the better of his back), running out of aftershave, and watching TV as the pizza boy delivers, only then to sit down with his mac n’ cheese asking Google to start operation Kevin.
