Bringing together two of the biggest names in the action genre, Escape Plan is pretty much guaranteed to be a hit when it opens later this year.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone come together for the first time in jointly leading roles, and you can’t help but feel that when two action titans like them join forces, we’re in for an awesome ride.
Previously titled The Tomb, we caught the first poster for the film earlier in the month, and now Summit have released the first trailer, via IGN, giving us a taste of the action coming our way soon.
Ray Breslin, the world’s foremost authority on structural security, agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called “The Tomb.” But when he is wrongly imprisoned, he must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.
Jim Caviezel, Vincent D’Onofrio, Sam Neill, Faran Tahir, Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson, Amy Ryan, and Vinnie Jones complete the cast nicely alongside our leading duo.
Mikael Håfström (1408, Derailed) is behind the camera, directing from a script co-written by Miles Chapman and Arnell Jesko.
Escape Plan is set to hit cinemas in the UK on 27th September, with its US release date following a few weeks later on October 18th. Here’s the first trailer to get you in the mood.
