Russell-Crowe-in-Noah-Promo-ImageOf the many movies coming our way next year, Darren Aronofsky’s Noah promises to be one of the very best.

The film marks Aronofsky’s return behind the camera for the first time since 2010’s Oscar-winning Black Swan, and I can’t wait to see what he brings us with this biblical epic next spring.

Whilst we eagerly await the first trailer, a handful of new promo images have surfaced online, giving us a look at leading man Russell Crowe and some of his co-stars.

In Aronofsky’s take on the Biblical tale, Noah is a man who loves Earth and all of its animal inhabitants, but has become disillusioned with the way humans have treated their planet.

Crowe is of course front and centre as the eponymous Noah. And he is joined by a truly great cast, led by Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Douglas Booth, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, Kevin Durand, Marton Csokas, Mark Margolis, and Dakota Goyo.

Aronofsky is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ari Handel (The Fountain), with John Logan (Gladiator, Skyfall) doing a rewrite.

Crowe and Connelly were absolutely brilliant opposite each other in Ron Howard’s A Beautiful Mind, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them on screen together again early next year. The film has long been one of my most anticipated in development, and it’s great to know that we’re less than a year away from seeing the finished product.

Noah is set to be released on March 28th, 2014, a release date that really can’t come fast enough.
