Despicable-Me-2-PosterIn recent years, Industry Trust have been running a great campaign in the UK under the slogan ‘Moments Worth Paying For’, supporting moviegoers who would (naturally) rather pay to go out and see a film, supporting the film industry. Following the recent Pacific Rim trailer we saw, Universal have partnered up with the campaign and launched a new trailer for the animated comedy, Despicable Me 2.

Steve Carell is of course back once more for the sequel, lending his voice as the not-so-villainous Gru. And I can’t wait to see him alongside his adorable little girls this summer.

Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s worldwide blockbuster Despicable Me entertained audiences around the globe in 2010, grossing more than $540 million and becoming the 10th-biggest animated motion picture in U.S. history. In summer 2013, get ready for more Minion madness in Despicable Me 2.

Chris Meledandri and his acclaimed filmmaking team create an all-new comedy adventure featuring the return of (former?) super-villain Gru (Steve Carell), his adorable girls, the unpredictably hilarious Minions…and a host of new and outrageously funny characters.

Carell is joined by another great voice cast, led by Russell Brand, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Elsie Fisher, Moisés Arias, Steve Coogan, and Ken Jeong.

Co-directors Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud are back behind the camera, directing from a script co-written by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul.

Despicable Me 2 will be hitting in 3D on 28th June here in the UK, with its US release date set for the following week on July 3rd. This is going to be a lot of fun. Here’s the new Moments Worth Paying For trailer to get you back in the spirit, and to give a little reminder (as if you needed any) that cinema would be nowhere without its paying audiences like us.
