4. Electro and The Green Goblin Unite
A close look at both trailers seemingly indicates that Harry Osborn becomes the Green Goblin in this franchise. That’s a huge departure from the comic books and sure to be one of the most controversial elements of the sequel. It could of course be leading to Norman – his father – later taking on the mantle, but how and why Harry becomes the Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 remains one of the biggest mysteries surrounding the movie.
However, it’s clear that at some point Harry and Electro decide to work together in order to take out Spider-Man. If Harry HAS taken up the Green Goblin persona by this point, it’s worth noting that he appears to be in his human guise here; an interesting development, especially as the Goblin we’ve seen appears mutated!
