9. Blackpool/Viva Laughlin
Known as Viva Laughlin in the US, the remake of Blackpool looked like it was destined to be a success early on. With Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness) directing the pilot and an appearance in that first episode from Hugh “Wolverine” Jackman, it had the potential to outdo the UK original.
Instead, it was dubbed by critics as “the worst television series in the history of television” and was swiftly cancelled by CBS after only two episodes…
That’s almost unprecedented, but it simply paled in comparison to Blackpool, a series which starred David Tennant and David Morrissey, and was nominated for a number of BAFTAs.
