2. Torchwood
This was more of a loose continuation than a full on remake, but following a third season which paled in comparison to the first two anyway, taking Torchwood stateside proved to be a mistake which stopped the Doctor Who spinoff dead in its tracks.
It may have been co-produced by the BBC (explaining why some of the action still took place on this side of the pond), but a lot of mediocre casting decisions and John Barrowman’s Captain Jack being given a smaller role than ever before were just two of many problems this had.
Instead of setting up a new run of Torchwood, all this version did was leave us with a dumb cliffhanger.
