On the 13th of January 2017 the UK finally have the chance to see Kenneth Lonergan’s latest film, Manchester by the Sea. The film has blazed a trail across the festival circuit and has garnered much praise for its leading actors Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams.

There’s a new UK poster and trailer out today, and we want to impress upon you our absolute love for this film – it is the definition of a must-see.

Lonergan’s third film as director tells the tale of a young man’s return home following the death of his brother, and whose grieving son he has been given guardianship over. Michelle Williams and Kyle Chandler appear as part of a fine supporting cast.

The son in question, newcomer Lucas Hedges, has big things ahead of him. His broken, cocksure teenage manner is at the heart of Lonergan’s film and much of the power comes from the dynamic between Hedges and Affleck.

It’s a beautiful film, comes highly recommended. Here’s the new poster and trailer, and some of our interviews from the recent premiere at the London Film Festival.

Manchester by the Sea is out in UK cinemas on the 13th of January 2017.
