Led by Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston, we saw a brilliant first red-band trailer debut a few months back. And with its August release date very much on the horizon, we’ve got the first TV spot to share, along with a new motion poster, giving us a look at the leading quartet in their regular lives and fake family life.
David is a small-time pot dealer whose clientele includes chefs and soccer moms, but no kids—after all, he has his scruples. So what could go wrong? Plenty. Having been jumped by a trio of gutter punks who steal his stash and his cash, they leave him in major debt to a drug lord. In order to wipe the slate clean, David must now become a big-time drug smuggler by bringing Brad’s latest shipment in from Mexico. Twisting the arms of his neighbours including a cynical stripper, a wannabe customer and a tatted-and-pierced streetwise teen, he devises a fool proof plan. One fake wife, two pretend kids and a huge, shiny campervan later, the “Millers” are on a roadtrip that is sure to end with a bang.
Emma Roberts and Will Poulter complete the leading quartet alongside Sudeikis and Aniston, with Ed Helms, Kathryn Hahn, Nick Offerman, and Thomas Lennon rounding off a very promising cast.
The script comes courtesy of Bob Fisher and Steve Faber (Wedding Crashers), with John Morris and Sean Anders (Sex Drive) also working on it during its development at New Line.
We’re the Millers is set to be released in the US on August 9th, with its UK release date following shortly after on 23rd August. I can’t wait.
