David O. Russell (The Fighter) has returned behind the camera to bring us yet another brilliant film in Silver Linings Playbook, which took the Audience Award at TIFF for Best Film, and coming away with fantastic reviews, all of which points towards its strong position in the coming awards season.

The film had its UK premiere as the Surprise Film on Saturday at the BFI London Film Festival, where I saw and absolutely loved it, and now the UK quad poster has made its way online.

“Pat Solatano has lost everything — his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother and father after spending eight months is a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat’s parents want is for him to get back on his feet – and to share their family’s obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he’ll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.”

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence are both brilliant in the leads, with fine support coming from Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Chris Tucker, Julia Stiles, Shea Whigham, and Anupam Kher.

Russell is directing from his own script, adapting the best-selling novel, The Silver Linings Playbook, by Matthew Quick.

Silver Linings Playbook will be arriving in theatres on 21st November in the UK and US, with a perfect position for The Weinstein Company to give it a strong campaign leading into the Oscars. For now, here’s the new quad poster, which you can click to enlarge. Be sure not to miss this when it hits cinemas next month.
