You can catch all of our posts on the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, On Stranger Tides, right here.

Added to all of that, we now have news via über-producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s Twitter feed that principal photography on the film has wrapped, moving now into post-production ready for next summer’s release. JB also said in his tweet that a trailer for the film would arrive on 17th December, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled for that and bring it to you as soon as we can.

POTC: On Stranger Tides is following on from some insanely successful franchise entries (at least in commercial terms), with At World’s End topping $950m and Dead Man’s Chest winding up north of the $1bn mark. And that was without the added box-office assistance of inflated 3D ticket prices. Give that On Stranger Tides will be competing with Transformers, Thor, Captain America and Cowboys & Aliens, it will be interesting to see how well it stands up.

What do you think? Are you in the mood for more of Captains Sparrow and Barbossa? Can POTC:OST match the success of the earlier films? Comment below.

Dave Roper
Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
