The intended remake of Frank Herbert’s legendary sci-fi novel Dune may have bitten the dust for now, but here’s a beautiful piece of poster art to console fans for the moment.

Created by artist Kevin Tong, it’s a re-imagining of David Lynch’s 1984 version of the book, and it’s a fantastic, abstract-y ensemble piece which clearly looks it was an incredibly time-consuming undertaking. The artist has even managed to sneak in an image of the director from his cameo in the film (he’s to the right of Sting and above the mining truck).

Hollywood should be beating down the doors to work with this new generation of graphic artists.
