Ron Perlman has been added to the cast of the upcoming ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ to take on the voice of Optimus Primal.

Perlman joins the already cast Anthony Ramos and ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ actress Dominique Fishback.

The new instalment to the franchise will return to the action and spectacle that first captured moviegoers around the world 14 years ago with the original Transformers, The film will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.

Directed by Steven Caple Jr, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto & Don Murphy, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, Duncan Henderson serve as producers.

Steven Spielberg, Brian Goldner, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Brian Oliver, Bradley J. Fischer, Valerii An will serve as executive producers.

The film is set to hit cinemas in the summer of 2022.
