Riz Ahmed and Octavia Spencer are set to star in the sci-fi thriller ‘Invasion’ from Amazon Studios and Film 4.

Directed by BAFTA-winner Michael Pearce the story will follow two young brothers who go on the run with their father, a decorated Marine, who is on a rescue mission to save his boys from an inhuman threat.

As their journey takes them in increasingly dangerous and unexpected directions, the boys will need to confront hard truths and leave their childhoods behind.

Pearce co-wrote the script with Joe Barton. Dimitri Doganis, Piers Vellacott and Derrin Schlesinger will produce.

On the TV front, British actor Ahmed was last seen in ‘The OA’, moving onto the big screen his latest previous movie projects included ‘Venom’ and ‘The Sisters Brothers’. His upcoming films include ‘Mogul Mowgli’ which tells the story of a British Pakistani rapper on the cusp of his first world tour but is struck down by an illness that threatens to derail his big break.

Spencer was last seen in the Netflix series ‘Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker’ in which she played the titular role and ‘Ma’. Her upcoming projects include Robert Zemeckis’ take on the Roald Dahl story ‘The Witches’ in which she plays the Grandmother alongside Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci.
