With Paranormal Activity 2 due for release next month in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, Japan has decided to go into production with a local language sequel to the 2009 horror smash.

Bloody Disgusting are reporting that Japanese distributor-come-production company Presidio Corporation has tentatively scheduled Paranormal Activity: Tokyo Night for a December release.

A direct sequel to the Oren Peli original, the spin-off will follow a Japanese exchange student who returns home having completed her studies in San Diego. Unbeknownst to her, she brings the entity that consumed Katie Featherston back to her family home.

Continuing the found-footage fad, the film will chronicle the young woman and her attempts to record the the supernatural force which her family must inevitably defeat. Cue bad things.
