To celebrate the release of O’dessa, which launches on Disney+ in the UK this weekend, we had the pleasure of chatting to the cast and director about this kaleidoscopic wonder.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future, “O’Dessa” is an original rock opera about a farm girl on an epic quest to recover a cherished family heirloom. Her journey leads her to a strange and dangerous city where she meets her one true love – but in order to save his soul, she must put the power of destiny and song to the ultimate test.
Chatting to stars Sadie Sink, Kelvin Harrison Jnr and Regina Hall, we talk being lured to the film, its originality and unique scope, seeing the film for the first time and who’d they’d love to have help them save the world through music.
Next, writer/director Jeremy Glasper talks the film’s origins, getting it made after many years of trying, the themes and scope of the story, casting Sink and how it made his job much easier and who he originally had in mind for the lead when it first came to fruition.
