With a healthy dose of Oscar buzz surrounding the film since its debut at NYFF, earning glowing reviews, it’s one we’ve been looking forward to for a long time, and promises to be one of the best films of the year.
We saw two new featurettes for the film last week, and now Fox have released a new 60-second TV spot ahead of its release on our shores next month.
“Director Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) creates a groundbreaking movie event about a young man who survives a tragic disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While marooned on a lifeboat, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with the ship’s only other survivor — a fearsome Bengal tiger.”
Newcomer Suraj Sharma takes the lead in the coming epic drama, promising a strong acting debut, supported by Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Rafe Spall, and Gérard Depardieu, with Lee directing from a script by Oscar-nominated David Magee (Finding Neverland), adapting the critically acclaimed and best-selling novel by Yann Martel.
Life of Pi is released in 3D in the US today, 21st November, arriving in time for Thanksgiving. Here in the UK, we’ve slightly longer to wait, with its release set for 20th December, but it looks like it’s going to be well worth waiting for. Here’s the latest extended TV spot to show you why. Enjoy.
