GambitBlessed with a script by Joel and Ethan Coen, a cast boasting Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz and Alan Rickman Gambit marks another change of tone for director Michael Hoffman.

His previous film, The Last Station, focused on Leo Tolstoy’s later years coping with the burden of fame on his marriage and featured two impeccable lead performances from Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer. Hoffman is a director who knows how to wring the best from his actors and the screwball charm of the film’s heritage seems to steer this particular ship. In this interview James Kleinmann sits down with the captain of the ship.
