With comic book movies commanding a huge percentage of internet traffic right now there’s always time to chew on that particularly meaty bone a little more, and in that spirit Empire teased the following quotes from the face of newly crowned Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, about his place in the ever-expanding Marvel universe.

Making a lightning dash to San Diego this year Ruffalo took to the stage along with the other Avengers and the crowd both whooped and cheered, giving Ruffalo and Marvel their blessing, eager to see the man who would be Bruce.

Here is what Ruffalo had to say,

They set up several pictures over a couple of years and possibly there will be a Hulk movie. There’ll probably be a couple more Avengers too, which would be fun.

The way I see it, Edward Norton has bequeathed this role to me. I reckon the part is my generation’s Hamlet, and there’s still some room for interpreting who The Hulk is.

Growing up I’d rush home to watch my favourite show. You had the main character, played by Bill Bixby, and he had this calming quality to him. I watched it again recently, and it was so different from anything on TV at the time. You could really see the character struggling with the human aspect of what was happening.

So a Ruffalo fueled Hulk movie and an Avengers Trilogy? Never in any real doubt was it? And just to give you an idea of what Ruffalo was talking about here’s a nice clip of the 70s Hulk, which is guaranteed to make you rip your pants in fear.
