Last seen on screen together facing off in a courtroom (in 1992’s A Few Good Men), Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson may be reunited for action comedy El Presidente.
The LA Times are reporting that Warner Bros. has made an offer to Nicholson, who is set to play the part of a bumbling ex-President who is assigned a by-the-books Secret Service agent after attempts have been made on his life. Cruise has apparently attached himself to the project as the agent.
The two had a strong chemistry in the brief scenes they shared in Rob Reiner’s military drama, and although Cruise’s summer action comedy Knight and Day failed to impress both critics and audiences, maybe this pairing could strike box-office gold again, as I’m sure Cruise (in particular) is hoping.
