The upcoming LEGO: The Piece of Resistance is naturally one of the most anticipated films of 2014, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street) returning to the world of animation for the first ever LEGO theatrical feature film.
In the US, a competition has been underway since the summer for fans to design their own vehicle, with the winner getting their winning design featured in the upcoming film, and a ,000 bonus to boot.
And now a similar competition has officially launched here in the UK, with the winner also getting their vehicle featured in the film, but switching out the money prize for 1 of 5 family passes to Legoland. (Not quite as awesome, but the going rate for a family pass is over £100 per person, so not quite a bad trade when you think of it like that.)
The US competition is being run in two separate sections – one for kids and one for adults, each with its own set of winners and prizes, and you can click here for the full terms and conditions for the American version.

The film revolves around,
“Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.”
Chris Pratt, Channing Tatum, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, and Morgan Freeman lead the brilliant voice cast, with Lord and Miller co-directing from a script they co-wrote, with a story they wrote with Dan and Kevin Hageman (Hotel Transylvania).
LEGO: The Piece of Resistance has recently been moved up for a 7th February, 2014 release in the US. Here in the UK, its date is still set for 28th February that year, but hopefully we’ll see the date shift up for our shores, too.
