Earlier this week we had the news that Stranger Things’ Eleven, Millie Bobby Brown, had been cast in the forthcoming Godzilla King of Monsters film. Why this is important to this story is that she may well be meeting up with some of the stars (or rather, survivors) of Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ forthcoming monster movie Kong Skull Island. Legendary and Warner Bros. are building their stable of classic movie monsters, in order that in 2020 we see the ultimate battle with Godzilla Vs. Kong. With Godzilla returning to cinemas in 2019, we have Kong Skull Island far closer on the horizon, coming to cinemas next month.

This new IMAX poster is an absolute joy, and helps to formalise the comparisons brought to the new film by a number of shots in the first trailer, which has then followed by with a very excitable, monster-focused Japanese version. Today we have a neat update to the already impressive poster line up for Vogt-Roberts’ film. If you missed the last poster, it featured a recreation of a very famous moment from the first two iterations of the story, when beauty meets the beast.

The cast of Kong: Skull Island includes Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly, and it’s currently set to be released on March 10th, 2017. We have very high hopes for this one, and if the tone is right (not too much John C. Reilly crazy man gone native, for example) then we’ll have a real treat on our hands.
