Following the first two seasons of Daredevil and the debuts of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, the four heroes will team up next year in The Defenders. Running for eight episodes, not a whole lot is known about the series as of right now, though it was confirmed at this year’s New York Comic-Con that they’ll square off against Sigourney Weaver.

Who she’s playing is another mystery, but we can now add two more familiar faces to the cast. As you can see below, Marvel and Netflix confirmed today that Daredevil star Deborah Ann Woll will reprise the role of Karen Page, while Simone Missick will return as Misty Knight from The Defenders. Foggy Nelson and Claire Temple are also among the characters coming back, so we’re clearly going to spend some time with more than just the four main heroes.

Marvel also recently announced that Jessica Jones helmer S.J. Clarkson will direct the first two episodes, and shooting will likely begin in New York City before the end of 2016.

The Defenders follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realise they just might be stronger when teamed together. The show is expected to air around this time next year.
