John Wicks triumphant return to the big screen last year reignited a passion for Keanu Reeves iconic role. Before too long, news of a third in the saga had been confirmed. According to ThatHashTagShow, further news has now been confirmed with a helmer, casting, and location details being reported.

John Wick faithful, Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the first and took on the second, will be returning to the director’s chair. Also returning are familiar faces Common as Cassian, the Laurence Fishburne as Bowery King and Ruby Rose as Ares. Also joining the cast is Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine, Avengers 4) as the head of a Japanese crime syndicate.

It is said the studio is also still looking for an actress to star opposite Reeves that is between her late 20’s and early 40’s and are open to diverse casting. It has also been reported that Reeves is keen to get Tilda Swinton on board but not necessarily for this role.

Principal photography is due to start in New York City from the 1st of March and will later head its production out to Russia and Spain.

The second instalment in the John Wick film series, saw the plot follow hitman John Wick, who goes on the run after a bounty is placed on his head. It was the first time Reeves and Fishburne worked together since The Matrix trilogy. Reeves will be teaming up again with Sanada after they worked together in 47 Ronin in 2013.

John Wick 3 is set to be released in cinema’s from May 17, 2019
