As we’re still in the grip of Film Festival season it makes sense that we’re starting to see the marketing machines whirring up their cogs to tease and tantalise us with some of this year’s biggest releases.

We saw Natalie Portman’s stirring portrait of Jackie Kennedy in Pablo Larraín’s latest film out in Venice (read our review here) and it was clear that the actress had thrown herself into this intimate portrayal of a woman at the centre of global events.

Billy Crudup, Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, John Hurt and Richard E. Grant are in supporting roles and the film is certain going to receive a solid reception on its release. We have the film’s first poster and trailer for you below.

Here’s the synopsis so you know what’s what…

JACKIE is a searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Natalie Portman). JACKIE places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband’s assassination. Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband’s legacy and the world of “Camelot” that they created and loved so well.
