With the Saw phenomenon having given way to Paranormal Activity franchise, torture porn was beginning to feel like a thing of the past. Like the Crazy Frog or economic stability.
It turns out Sony Pictures Home Entertainment disagree. The studio has just released the trailer for Hostel: Part III, a compilation of footage which appears to show a heavy focus on bronzed buttocks, screaming tourists and – I’m sorry, it’s uncanny – a particularly hostile looking Na’vi.
Set for a straight-to-DVD release on December 27th, Hostel: Part III relocates the carnage to Las Vegas, where another group of healthy looking young actors are gassed and subsequently subjected to everything from electric drills to weird, cockroachy looking things; each device selected using the slightly unimaginative “Wheel of Misfortune”.
