HBO are developing Muscle, a new single-camera comedy from writer/director Derek Cianfrance.
Muscle is based on the Sam Fussell’s memoir Muscle: Confessions of an Unlikely Bodybuilder and will explore the subculture of contemporary professional bodybuilding.
Cianfrance will co-write the script alongside Fussell.
Blue Valentine, Cianfrance’s highly acclaimed new relationship drama starring Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling, opens in the UK on January 14.
