G.I.-Joe-Retaliation-PosterG.I. Joe: Retaliation will be hitting hard this spring, bringing to the big screen the sequel with another all-star cast, and this time in three dimensions.

Originally slated for release last summer, Paramount decided to push the release date back in order to undergo a handful of reshoots, and to give them a chance to give it a proper 3D post-conversion.

We saw the latest trailer land last month. And with its arrival just over two months away, an explosive new Japanese trailer has debuted online, featuring one of the best trailer voiceovers in recent memory.

“A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.”

Channing Tatum, Ray Park, and Lee Byung-hun reprise their roles from the first film, with Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Elodie Yung, Ray Stevenson, RZA, D.J. Cotrona, Walton Goggins, Jonathan Pryce, and Mr. Bruce Willis himself completing the cast as Joe Colton.

Jon M. Chu is behind the camera, directing from a script penned by the brilliant Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland).

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is set for release in 3D on 27th March here in the UK, with its US release date coming two days later on 29th March. For now, here’s the great new Japanese trailer to get the anticipation rising. This is going to be a lot of fun.
