After what seems like years (because it has been) we finally have our first look at The Cabin in the Woods, the latest film from Cloverfield director Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon, involved here on production duty.

Whedon regular Fran Kranz has a place in the cast alongside West Wing/Studio 60 man Bradley Whitford and the cast also has Chris Hemsworth, Jodelle Ferland, Jesse Williams and Kristen Connolly to recommend itself and personally I can’t wait to see what Whedon and Goddard have in store for us.

Lionsgate are playing heavily on the fact that Pretty Teens Go to the Woods and Get Killed is pretty much beyond parody so there are a few hints in this trailer of how the story is skewed and the final montage contains some very mysterious images along with the obvious horror tropes.

Yahoo have this one first, but a big Hurrah to Whedonesque for the heads up. Be warned – it’s spoiler heavy even for a trailer, so if you want to be free to wander into the woods on the 13th of April unspoiled then stop right here.
