It was bound to happen that, along with the announcement of the release date and time for the first trailer from Michael Bay’s next Magnum Optimus, sooner or later we’d get some sort of promotional image to complement it, and today we got that look at a poster for Transformers 3.

Though this image was spotted back in June at the Licensing International Expo this is the first good look we’ve had and what was interesting is how immediately the poster was written off as fake, perhaps because it lacks the odd subtitle, The Dark of the Moon, or perhaps because it’s a touch uninspired.

Here’s how the poster first looked when Comic Book Movie snapped it on the exhibition floor,

I love the fact that it looks like that Blue creature is being walked by its owner, but behind them is the proof we needed that this poster is indeed real. It’s just a promo image and probably won’t end up being a final poster but the glowing sunset below Prime’s sack of nuts and bolts was proof enough for me that Bay had given this one the thumbs up.
