Jamie-Foxx-in-The-Amazing-Spider-Man-2

Sony Pictures have released the first clip from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and it wastes no time in treating us to our best look yet at Jamie Foxx in action as Electro right in the middle of Times Square.

As Spider-Man attempts to calm the confused and powered up Max Dillon down before he hurts anyone, the NYPD make the mistake of taking a shot at him and setting off thee chain of events which will presumably lead to him becoming the villainous Electro. It’s a tense scene and the special effects are top-notch.

With around five weeks until its UK release and seven until Spider-Man swings into US theatres, it seems early to be releasing clips like this, but it’s hard to complain about getting another sneak peek at the sequel!

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper and Paul Giamatti, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in the UK on 18th April and in the US on May 2nd.
