Drew Barrymore (Scream) will direct romantic comedy How to Be Single.

The actor, who made her directorial debut with the acclaimed roller derby film Whip It, will return to the directors chair with How to Be Single, an adaptation of Liz Tuccillo’s novel of the same name.

From a screenplay by Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn, How to Be Single will explore the loves lives and break-ups of a group of New Yorkers over the course of ten years.

New Line Cinema and Flower Film will co-produce.

Barrymore will next be seen in romantic-drama Everybody Loves Whales, alongside Kristen Bell and John Krasinski.
