Batman Catwoman

We know that there were only a couple of major roles left to be cast in Gotham, and now the series which focuses on a young Detective Jim Gordon has found both Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. Both characters will be considerably more youthful than their comic book counterparts, something which is to be expected as Gotham takes place years before Wayne becomes Batman.

Twelve year old Touch star David Mazouz is set to play Bruce Wayne, the son of Thomas and Martha Wayne. He’s sentenced to a solitary life after the tragic slayings of his wealthy parents and is described as serious and soulful, relying on the guidance and protection of Alfred Pennyworth and James Gordon.

The role Selina Kyle (who was most recently played by Anne Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises) will be filled by newcomer Camren Bicondova. Gotham will see the future Catwoman portrayed as a teenage orphan who is suspicious and wholly unpredictable. She’s a street thief and skilled pickpocket who is dangerous when cornered.

The Mentalist’s Drew Powell was also recently cast in the series as Butch Gilzean, the deceptively clever and ambitious second-in-command to sadistic gangster boss Fish Mooney.

Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as Detective Jim Gordon, Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Erin Richards as James’ fiancee Barbara Kean,  Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin and Sean Pertwee as the wealthy Wayne family’s servant, Alfred Pennyworth.
