The first trailer for the film has gone online ahead of its premiere, via Collider, and it’s a promising, action-fuelled, eerie first look at the film. Screening as part of the festival’s Midnighters line-up, THR report that the film
“is described as being in the spirit of the 1980s canon and in the vein of A History of Violence but with the teens as the heroes, taking on four hitmen over $500,000 in stolen cash.”
Directed by Steven C. Miller (Automaton Transfusion) and written by Ben Powell (Satanic), the film stars Fabianne Therese (the upcoming John Dies at the End), Ryan Hartwig (The Death of Socrates), Ray Wise (RoboCop), Dana Ashbrook (Twin Peaks), and Derek Mears (the recent Friday the 13th).
This great first trailer also comes alongside a few promo images, asking the question, ‘What is The Aggression Scale?’, answered with:
“The Aggression Scale is a clinical test measuring the frequency of overt aggressive behaviors that may result in physical or psychological injury to others.
It is also the title of a teen action film.”
No word yet on when Anchor Bay are planning to release the film, but here’s to hoping that it will find a release here as well as across the Atlantic. It looks like a promising film, and hopefully a sign of a solid career to come for the young two leads, There and Hartwig, with the former set to star alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Charlie Sheen, Bill Murray, and many more in Roman Coppola’s upcoming A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III.
