The Barbican in London played host this evening to the SXSW London Premiere of Savage House, a wickedly funny and sharply observed period satire that marks one of the most deliciously unhinged British films of the year. Written and directed by Peter Glanz, the film stars Richard E. Grant and Claire Foy as Sir Chauncey and Lady Savage — a crumbling aristocratic couple whose desperate bid for social redemption spirals into duels, decadence and spectacular moral catastrophe. The ensemble cast includes Jack Farthing, Bel Powley, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Richard McCabe, Vicki Pepperdine and Pip Torrens.

Savage House will be released in cinemas on 5th June 2026.

Linda Marric and Madison Hart were on the red carpet, here are their interviews.

Savage House SXSW London Premiere Interviews

Plot:

England, 18th century. The Savages are at their lowest: they despise each other, their house is falling apart, and they are disliked in polite society — sleeping with their servants and selling off jewellery to keep their gambling and drinking going. Oh, and Chauncey Savage’s foot might be rotting off. All of this changes when they learn they are to be visited by a higher-ranking nobleman. The honour gives them a renewed energy to get new outfits, polish their silver, and hire new help to make sure the House of Savage looks as impressive as possible — with predictably savage results.
