4. Father And Son Relationship
One of the most touching moments in Terminator 2: Judgement Day was the bond between John Connor and the T-800.
The youngster has a much needed father figure, while the robot (who was at this time protecting Sarah and her son) showed signs of developing some much needed humanity. This was an important scene for Sarah too, as her voiceover – “[The Terminator] would never leave him, and it would never hurt him, never shout at him, or get drunk and hit him, or say it was too busy to spend time with him. It would always be there – proved that she too was adapting in a way.
Terminator 3 was a weak movie no doubt, but the pain John felt that the T800 didn’t know him at least added some emotional weight to the threequel.
