1. The LA Canal Chase
All these years later, and this remains undoubtedly one of the greatest action sequences ever to grace the big screen.
Driving a huge tanker, the T1000 pursues John (who struggles to stay ahead on his small dirt bike) and looks set to wipe him out before the T800 swoops in and saves the day. The ending is particularly exciting, and James Cameron once again teases us with the possibility that the T1000 has been stopped following the tanker’s explosion as a lone tyre first emerges from the wreckage).
This chase scene is massively exciting and the fact that it was done with mostly practical effects helps it stand out from any similar current day CGI heavy sequences which have nowhere near the same type of impact on the viewer.
