Universal’s been doing a great job of keeping things under wraps for Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2. But with summer now very much on the horizon, the comedy sequel has finally begun to reveal itself, launching the first trailer this week.

Seth MacFarlane and Mark Wahlberg return to lead the comedy sequel, joined by an even bigger cast than the original. And to celebrate the big game, the studio has launched a great Super Bowl TV spot, made all the sweeter for having Tom Brady and the Patriots on the field tonight.

Seth MacFarlane returns as writer, director and voice star of Ted 2, Universal and Media Rights Capital’s follow-up to the highest-grossing original R-rated comedy of all time. Joined once again by star Mark Wahlberg and fellow Ted writers Alec Sulkin & Wellesley Wild, MacFarlane produces the live action/CG-animated comedy alongside Bluegrass Films’ Scott Stuber, as well as John Jacobs and Jason Clark.

Amanda Seyfried takes the female lead this time around in place of Mila Kunis, with Jessica Barth returning as Tami-Lynn. And joining them will be Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, John Slattery, and Dennis Haysbert.

MacFarlane directs from a script he co-wrote with Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild (Ted, Family Guy), making his third feature behind the camera.

Ted 2 hits US cinemas on 26th June and arrives in the UK on 10th July.
