Les-Miserables-Young-Cosette-PosterLes Misérables has long been one of the most anticipated films of the year. Hitting US theatres on Christmas Day, it is surrounded with Oscar buzz, and we can’t wait to see if it lives up to expectations.

With its release just a matter of weeks away, two brilliant new TV spots have debuted online, following nicely after the five new clips that were recently released, giving us still more to look forward to this holiday season.

“Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.”

Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfried lead a fantastic cast, with a terrific supporting cast headed up by Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, Samantha Barks, and Isabelle Allen.

Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech) is directing from a script by William Nicholson (Gladiator, Shadowlands), who adapts the original classic novel of the same name by Victor Hugo and the world-famous stage musical.

And as you’re no doubt already aware, what makes this film that much more special and unique is the fact that every note was sung live on set. And that is most definitely something to look forward to seeing and hearing when it arrives.

Les Misérables will be released in the US on Christmas Day, before coming to the UK slightly later on 11th January. The film will also be released in IMAX theatres here in the UK, and tickets for both regular and IMAX screenings are now available to pre-book. For now, here are the brilliant new TV spots to let you dip a toe into the water. Enjoy.
