4. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt, Guardians of the Galaxy)
Chris Pratt was a very unexpected choice for the role of Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy, but the Parks & Recreation star shed a lot of weight and bulked up considerably when he was cast, showing fans that he was dedicated to doing the character justice on the big screen.
Peter Quill has a human mother and alien father; J’son of Spartax. When Peter is ten years old, his mother is killed by members of the alien race who are searching for his father. This eventually leads to him heading into space and becoming a renegade of sorts as he defies his father and tries to find justice for his mother. It’s this which leads to him forming the Guardians of the Galaxy, and it will be extremely interesting to see how this all plays out in the movie (a prison is believed to be involved).
