The Flood is coming, and things are about to get biblical. Darren Aronofsky’s Noah is less than two months from hitting the big screen, and with the Super Bowl right around the corner, Paramount has launched the first big game spot of all the major studios for the event.
The thirty-second spot follows the new poster that launched yesterday, seeing leading man Russell Crowe wielding an axe in his efforts to protect his family and all of God’s creatures.
Russell Crowe stars as Noah, a man chosen by God for a great task before an apocalyptic flood destroys the world.
Jennifer Connelly reunites with Crowe here as the female lead, with the duo starring alongside Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Kevin Durand, Marton Csokas, Nick Nolte, and Dakota Goyo.
Aronofsky (Black Swan) directs from a script he co-wrote with past collaborator Ari Handel (The Fountain), with John Logan (Skyfall, Gladiator) hired for what looks to be uncredited script work.
The Super Bowl XLVIII will be held this Sunday, and is sure to play host to the usual epic host of trailers and big game spots. Last year, Universal used the event as the launching point for an awesome first look at Fast & Furious 6, and I can’t wait to see who comes out on top this year.
Noah will be released in regular and IMAX cinemas on March 28th in the US, with its UK release date following a week later on 4th April.
