8. The Dwarves Arrive In Bag End
The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies are very, very different, something which Peter Jackson wasted no time in demonstrating in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
This comedic sequence was a ton of fun, and a nice way to introduce us to the rather large band of dwarves. The entire sequence gave the director the chance to showcase each of their unique personalities, even if it is still a little easy to lose track of them later on in both this movie and the sequel.
Regardless, ending this introduction in a sing song which took us from slapstick to serious in short order made sense, and it was at this point that both Bilbo and moviegoers realised the gravity of Thorin’s mission, making this the moment that the journey really began!
