Now that we’re over the rise of the streaming giants Netflix remains one of the most visible distributor of new films. It’s an exciting time for directors and audiences and this week we have our first directorial outing from Amy Poehler, who is joined by Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch & Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph and Paula Pell for Wine Country.
James Kleinmann sat down with the cast to talk about how their real life friendship informs the film, how they prepared for the excurison and why their ‘deep dive’ conversations are a huge part of their film. They also talk about the importance of the music in the film, with the cast’s rendition of I Will Die for You playing a central role.
Also starring in the film are Emily Spivey, Liz Cockowski, Maya Erskine, and Jason Schwartzman.
The film will debut on Netflix on the 10th of May.
