Emily Kinney left The Walking Dead last year after Beth was [SPOILER ALERT] killed off in the midseason finale, but the actress has now landed a role in another high profile small screen comic book adaptation.

She will play a female version of Bug-Eyed Bandit in The Flash, a villain who has typically been portrayed as one of The Atom’s foes. Kinney will first appear in the eighteenth episode of the series, appropriately titled “All-Star Team-Up”. Why? Well, it will feature Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer/Atom visiting Central City!

He and Felicity seek out Barry Allen’s advice to put the finishing touches to Palmer’s A.T.O.M. exosuit.

In the series, Kinney will play Brie Larvan (a reimagining of the classic DC villain Bertram Larvan), a narcissistic tech wizard wreaking havoc in Central City. Upon arriving in town, Felicity recognizes Brie as her nemesis, and the two women engage in a hacker battle for The Flash’s life. It should be very interesting to see such a different side to the actress, especially as she was so inherently good in The Walking Dead.

Fans weren’t happy when Beth was killed off in The Walking Dead, but Kinney is doing pretty well for herself so far as she’s also booked an appearance in Forever. With rumours of a spinoff for The Atom (pictured below) somewhere down the line, you have to imagine that the actress might reappear there as well.
