Black Death is the latest film from British director Christopher Smith (Creep, Severance and Triangle) and stars Sean Bean and Eddie Redmayne.

I was lucky enough to see this last week and I was very pleasantly surprised. My review will be up on the site soon and we’ll most likely be discussing the film on the HeyUGuys Mouth Off podcast soon, so be sure to subscribe to it here.

Today though we have the trailer to show you. Unfortunately I don’t think the trailer accurately captures the tone of the film, which is not really an action spectacle, but it’s still pretty good and definitely worth checking out.

Synopsis: In a plague-ridden medieval England, Osmund, a young monk, is charged in leading the fearsome knight Ulrich and his group of mercenaries to a remote village where the inhabitants are unaffected by the deadly pestilence. Their quest is to hunt down a necromancer – someone able to bring the dead back to life.

Their journey is long and brutal; encountering deadly bandits, vicious witch-burnings and their own impeding sense of doom. Though it’s upon entering the village that their true horror begins…
